Baltimore County Exec. Withdraws Rental Housing License Bill

This morning, the Baltimore County Executive’s Office has opted to withdraw Council Bill 108-20, establishing a multi-family registration and licensing program. Throughout our meetings with County officials, we urged opposition to this proposal which would have resulted in burdensome inspections and fees totaling nearly $2M annually paid for by the multi-family industry. Given current delinquency rates and the various burdens the County has already placed on the industry in the last year, including source of income and rent stabilization, now is simply not the time. Thanks to MMHA members who assisted with these efforts.
