Professional Bio

Adam Landsman is the founder and president of Landsman Building Performance Services (LandsmanBPS), an energy consulting firm helping owners, managers, associations, and institutions navigate energy benchmarking, building performance standards (BEPS), and utility costs.

A Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Adam founded LandsmanBPS on the belief that benchmarking should be more than a check-the-box exercise. Accurate data and practical guidance can support capital planning, manage regulatory risk, reduce operating costs, and improve building performance. An ENERGY STAR Partner, the firm provides benchmarking, third-party verification, ENERGY STAR certification, ASHRAE energy audits, gross floor area measurement, BEPS planning, and utility cost recovery. LandsmanBPS serves nearly 1,000 buildings across Washington, DC, Maryland, Chicago, Miami, San Jose, and other markets.

Adam brings experience spanning real estate operations, energy technology, strategy, and public policy. Before founding LandsmanBPS, he was president of PulseIQ, an energy technology company offering IoT, energy management software, and ESG and BEPS reporting. Previously, as vice president at Abaris Realty, he led strategy, business development, and operations for a 40-person property management practice serving 160 clients and representing $75 million in annual revenue. He helped double the business, expand its services, and integrate energy-efficiency strategies into client operations.

Earlier, Adam worked in patent litigation, at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and at Booz Allen Hamilton, leading real estate, environmental policy, energy, and technology projects for federal clients including the Army, Navy, Air Force, EPA, and GSA.

Adam earned a BS in Information Management and Technology, summa cum laude, from Syracuse University and an MS from University College London's School of Public Policy. He lives in Takoma Park, Maryland, with his wife and two children.
