Legislative Committee

While MMHA internally boasts decades worth of valuable experience in lobbying in this industry, we rely upon active membership to keep the Government Affairs team better informed on current business practices, housing trends, and the practical implication of pending legislation from the state and local levels. The Legislative Committee serves as this conduit and knowledge hub, bridging the gap between MMHA membership and the Government Affairs team. As a member of the Committee, you are on the front lines with the Government Affairs team as we navigate the complex regulatory, legal, and legislative frameworks in Maryland - and will be the first ones to hear about pending actions that may impact the industry.
During the Maryland Legislative Session, the MMHA Legislative Committee meets every Monday at 4pm via Zoom from January to April while the Maryland General Assembly is in Session. Committee members are given agendas and reports in preparation of every meeting - keeping you informed during this pivotal 90 days. Outside of the Legislative Session, the Committee may meet irregularly to discuss pending regulatory, legal, or legislative actions.
