Professional Bio

Jeff Nover is a transactional real estate attorney who advises clients on complex real estate transactions and real estate financing matters. He brings more than a decade of experience guiding lenders, government-sponsored housing enterprises, and developers through a wide spectrum of commercial real estate finance and structured lending.

He has led high-value finance transactions, including deals involving federal and state tax credits such as Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits, and New Markets Tax Credits. His experience spans residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use properties, and his work includes loan documentation, contract negotiation, title and survey review, and property sales and acquisitions.

Jeff has served as lead counsel on real estate finance transactions involving structured credit facilities secured by large pools of multifamily housing, including market-rate, affordable, manufactured, senior, and student housing properties nationwide. Jeff frequently advises on business formation, risk mitigation strategies, and regulatory compliance.

Prior to joining McNees, Jeff practiced at regional and national firms in Baltimore with a focus on real estate finance.

Committed to public service, Jeff provides pro bono counsel to nonprofits and small businesses in his Baltimore community. In 2022, he received the Benjamin R. Civiletti Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year Award. He serves as President of the Board of Directors for the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and as Vice President of the Board for One House at a Time, a nonprofit organization addressing unsafe, vacant properties in Baltimore.
