Event Details

 NAAEI’s Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) program is an in-depth review of property management principles and techniques as used by the professional supervisor. The course helps the professional make the connection between knowledge and on-the-job performance.  CAPS training is a week long classroom training event with five, eight-hour courses.

CAPS Prerequisites: CAPS Candidates must have worked as a multi-site supervisor for 24 months or have your CAM designation in good standing and 24 months of management experience. 

Course Instructor, Alexandra Jackiw 

Alexandra Jackiw, CPM, CAPS, joined Milhaus in 2014 as president of its property management company where she is responsible for overseeing property operations and asset management functions for the Milhaus-owned portfolio and expanding management services to select third-party, institutional clients. Prior to joining Milhaus she worked for several privately-held regional companies as well as large publicly traded investment management firms. Jackiw has experience managing conventional market-rate properties, purpose-built student housing, full-service retirement communities, nursing homes, LIHTC communities and HUD-regulated properties. Her experience includes all aspects of property and asset management, marketing, training, consulting, troubled property turnarounds and new business development. Active in professional organizations, Jackiw served as chairman of NAA in 2013 and president of the NAA Education Institute in 2008/2009. She is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management, National Multifamily Housing Council, and Housing Education and Research Association. Jackiw is past chair of the Residential Property Management Advisory Board at Virginia Tech and past president of the Ball State University Residential Property Management Advisory Board. She has held faculty appointments at both Virginia Tech and Ball State University where she has continued to teach in their respective Residential Property Management programs for the past 13 years. 

Jackiw is a respected industry speaker and has presented programs to industry trade groups through the U.S. Jackiw received the NAAEI Apartment Career and Education (ACE) Award in 2011 in recognition of her commitment to training industry professionals. She is a graduate of the University of Rochester and received her M. Ed. from Ohio University.
