Maryland Multi-Housing Association Announces Rick Grams as Co-Chair of Legislative Committee
McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC attorney and MMHA Executive Committee member to help lead legislative advocacy efforts impacting Maryland’s multifamily housing industry
BALTIMORE, MD (October 29, 2026) – The Maryland Multi-Housing Association (MMHA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rick Grams, Attorney at McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC, as Co-Chair of the association’s Legislative Committee. In this leadership role, Grams will help guide the committee’s efforts to monitor legislative developments, advocate for policies that support the multifamily housing industry, and ensure the voices of housing providers are represented in important policy discussions throughout Maryland.
Grams brings extensive legal experience and a deep understanding of the challenges facing property owners and managers. At McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC, he represents clients in all aspects of residential and commercial leasing throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania, from the initial lease application through the conclusion of a tenancy.
His practice includes representing and defending property owners and managers in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts on matters involving breach of lease, tenant holding over, fair housing, bankruptcy, rent escrow, habitability complaints, debt collection, and consumer protection. His legal expertise and firsthand knowledge of the issues impacting housing providers will be valuable assets to the committee's advocacy efforts.
“Legislative decisions have a direct impact on housing providers, property owners, and the communities they serve,” said Grams. “I look forward to working with my fellow committee members and MMHA leadership to address the issues facing our industry and ensure our members’ perspectives are part of the conversation.”
In addition to his new role as Legislative Committee Co-Chair, Grams was recently reelected to the Executive Committee of MMHA’s Board of Directors, further demonstrating his continued commitment to the association and Maryland’s multifamily housing community.
The MMHA Legislative Committee plays an important role in reviewing proposed legislation, identifying emerging policy issues, and supporting the association’s government affairs initiatives. With Grams serving as Co-Chair, the committee will continue its work to promote informed policymaking, strengthen industry representation, and advocate for a sustainable rental housing environment across Maryland.
